Process Insight: how taking a fresh approach to marketing led to increased awareness – and sales

Situation

Process Insight is a consultancy and training business, whose sales rely on word of mouth and recommendation. As such, creating awareness of what the company offers – and what makes them different – is vitally important. Moreover, this is a complex business – conveying what they actually do in a concise and clear manner had historically been an ongoing challenge. Process Insight asked 55 Connect to put together a marketing strategy that would help streamline all communications, refine its key messages and ultimately, deliver more sales leads.

Solution

The first step was to complete a marketing audit, which looked at all current marketing activities and spend and identified areas for improvement. 55 Connect then put together a proposal that addressed all of the client’s immediate requirements, namely streamlining content, improving customer communications and enhancing communications relating to training – all of which began with the production of a communications strategy. 55 Connect started by developing key messages which really helped to define Process Insight’s proposition and its unique selling points. This enabled us to work on the branding and the tactical delivery of the marketing plan. This included:

  • developing branding guidelines
  • creating flyers
  • designing an impactful email marketing template using MailChimp
  • conducting a customer communication survey
  • hosting webinars
  • developing a social media plan
  • building a simple but highly effective new website.

Results

Following on from the changes which 55 Connect implemented, business processes have improved, costs have been reduced and employees are working more efficiently with support from an independent marketing consultancy, which has freed up time for them to focus on core activities. Levels of customer engagement improved significantly, as did overall sales.
